Duffey Lake

The Cayoosh Creek Forest Service Road was developed as a forest access road in the 1960s, and joined with the Joffree Creek road in 1972 to create a new pass through the towering Coast Mountains, known as the Duffey Lake Route. It is now part of Highway 99 linking Lillooet with Pemberton and Whistler.

The route winds its' up through Douglas Fir and Montaine Spruce stands, and features historic gold mines, Forest Service camp sites, spectacular alpine views, and of course, the peerless Duffey Lake. Wildlife abounds, and the prospects are good to sight Mule Deer, Black Bear, Mountain Goat.
